Founded in 1999, Canada Gallery is a gallery located in Tribeca, New York. common room has worked with Canada since 2007 on the spatial design of three spacesFor the website design, the main impetus was to showcase and index the history of activities of the artist-run gallery

The website architecture is divided into six main sections including Artists, Exhibitions, Editions, Events, and PublicationsEach section is identified with a unique color that references the gallery’s historic commitment to painterly practice

On the homepage, the 6 sections of the site collapse into a feed. This feed, as well as other sections of the site which require long-scroll navigation are aided by a micronavigation on either the right- or left-hand side of the siteInteraction with the micronavigation gives the user a preview of other content on the page, and provides direct access to each section

Artist pages feature a bio, contextual studio photography, artworks, exhibitions, publications, press, and CVDocumentation of artist studios is generous and images are arranged in full bleed, giving insight into each artist's making processExhibitions are arranged by a calendar and all exhibitions are easily accessible by a timeline and artist index Each exhibition includes exhibition documentation as well as individual artworksThe Events section is also organized by a calendar, and the Publication section includes a shop

An Index page highlights almost three decades of artists and exhibitions the gallery has represented or shownThe Search function prioritizes artist and exhibition images, encouraging quick and direct access to works and exhibitions

The mobile site translates the desktop experience into an immersive, handheld format

The website is typeset in a custom drawing of the typeface Maxima drawn by Martin Andereggen in three sizes
