We commissioned a digitization of the typeface Permanent by Laurenz Brunner of Source Type, which was found in its early foundations when ICP was known as International Fund for Concerned Photography

In the project, we investigated the physical characteristics and challenged legibility with cut vinyl textFor signage for the entire museum, only white and black cut vinyl are usedThe visual layout of the entrance wall, wall maps, wayfinding, and a calendar of events changes depending on which location you are in the museumLocation-specific information is set in black cut vinyl, with the remaining information in white cut vinyl and obscured

For the exhibition design, the title walls were made with either letters cut out of a sheet of black vinyl on a white wall for black text on a white background; or letters cut out of a sheet of white vinyl on a painted black wall for white text on a black background
